Pastor Glenn and Mardy Dunlop

Our church was first planted in November 1999 under the name of Highway of Holiness Church. As a house church we experienced growth and after a season of prayer were led by the Lord to a premise in the Ravenhill area. During this period Pastor Glenn transitioned from a successful career in Irish League soccer with Crusaders F.C. to a full time ministry capacity in answer to the call of God.

We continued to grow and develop resulting in another move after a year and a half to our current building on the Ravenhill Road. We were handed the keys in February 2002 and by July of that year after months of hard work in restoring the place, were actively worshipping and functioning.

From that time steady progress was made. Our membership increased and we continued to build healthy associations throughout the city and country further afield. We have also worked with various international ministries building long term friendships and working relationships.

Around 2008 we began to experience a shift in our approach to ministry. This culminated in a more Apostolic thrust both at home and abroad with a work being planted in Malawi, Africa after an initial fact finding mission during November 2007. Our focus overseas is three fold, 1) A local church plant 2) The regional church and 3) Humanitarian aid.

Another aspect of this shift was seen in a name change to our current Karmel City Church. Today the church continues with the vision, and different branches of ministry have been established, including various outreaches and discipleship programs. Souls have come to know Christ as Lord and Saviour, bodies have been healed, people have been set free and our hope is God has been and will continue to be glorified in all we do in his name.

May God richly bless you!
